My First Week On The Job!

My first few days were pretty fun trying to figure out everything and realizing how little I knew about flowers in general. I did not work a ton of hours this week but I learned a lot about petunias!! I got to organize and put out hundreds of flats to get ready for our annual petunia sale!! I found answers to everyones questions by learning about the different varieties...

I learned about the "Wave" petunias first... They are the petunia for a hanging basket and will have about a three foot circumference! They are beautiful in hanging baskets and everyone wanted to know about them...

The next kind was "Super Petunias" also known as "Supertunia"... They are very similar to the wave but mound a little more and don't trail as long...
We also carry what is known as a "double" petunia and they are extra flowery:) I don't have a picture but I will take one and show you later!!

I learned that petunias can take really warm temperatures and really cold ones but when it freezes the flowers die not the whole plant... so due to the wonderful weather in Idaho we have to cover and uncover the petunias everyday so all the buds would not die and look good for the customers!!

And then there was watering... Plants always need water!!!
