9th Week...

Another Great Week!!!!

As a side project I have been making one of my friends wedding flowers!!! I have never done wedding flowers before but I am trying and so far its been pretty good!!!

She really likes everything I have made for her and it has been way fun to have a side project whenever I am not busy at work!!!

In the nursery we have what we call the Information Desk and its a little building in the nursery that has a computer and lots of books that we use to find answers to customers questions...

They even have a Durr Manual and that made me really happy!!!!

I always thought it was funny when my professors would tell stories about people bringing them dead branches or dried leaves and things like that... but people really do bring in small parts of plants and expect us to know what it is and what is wrong with it and how to fix it... I am learning lots:)

Its weird because out here in the nursery the nursery workers do not do any watering... We have what is called Opperations and they do all the watering!!! They also fix anything that is broken and help pull weeds and other things that just need to be done... Here is a couple of them watering!!!

This week I learned a lot about roses and got to move a couple hundred form one location to this rose house... it was so fun and my arms looked great after!!!

I had never hear of these rocks that are hollow that you can put over pipes in your yard... they are pretty cool and I think they look pretty real...

Part of Town and Country is what we call Advantage Members... they are customers that get better discounts, a longer warranty, and others things like that!!!!

We have a product that you use then planting trees or shrubs called Myke... If you purchase this Myke with your trees your warranty last for 5 year and not just 2!!!! My family used it a couple years ago and we have not had any problem with our plants so I would say it works pretty good!!!!

8th Week...

NURSERY!!!

This week has been way interesting and a lot of learning... They moved me out to the nursery...

I have had to remember everything I know about trees and shrubs and remember what all their names are... This has been kind of hard but I hope it gets better over time the way the flowers did in the greenhouse!!!!!

We have most of our small shrubs right close to the front entrance and then it goes back to the bigger shrubs...

Along the side we have our ornamental trees and fruit trees!!!

We also have "ball and burlap" trees that lots of landscapers come in and buy...

We have a section for all our evergreen trees and then another section for all the ground cover evergreens like junipers and things like that...

There is a small fruit section where we have blue berried, grapes, goose berries, currents and other small fruits!!!

The nursery is not as fast pase as the greenhouse was but it seems like it will be good!!!!
